A celebration trip

Have you ever thought about traveling to celebrate a special occasion? That was a way chosen by my family to commemorate my grandparent’s married anniversary, last October. We traveled to a small city in Espírito Santo, more than 700 kilometers away from Belo Horizonte, my hometown, and rented a country house there to stay a few days all together. In general, we had hearty meals, fun moments and praises to God.

My grandparents turned 65 years of relationship and it is a remarkable achievement. Being in mind that they are elderly, they still have disposition, good mood and like parties. According to my grandparents, the secret to having an enduring marriage is to have patience, love, care and complicity. They are an example for many couples, including my husband and I, and sometimes people ask them for romantic advices.

At the end of the trip, we did a simple ceremony, when they could renew their vows and everybody emotioned. Furthermore, the celebration was special for all family members and we are planning to repeat it next year.
